Christian Assembly held a weekend seminar, Building Solid Sons,
June 1 & 2 in order to assist anyone who has influence in the life of a boy, whether a parent or not. Tony Moore, associate pastor of discipleship says that adults sometimes forget that boys are the princes of the kingdom of God. "So many young men have grown up neglected, abused, mistreated and many times just ignored rather than treated with the care that should be shown to a child of God."
This two-day seminar covered topics such as God's Design for Boys, Single Parenting, Preventing Homosexuality, and When I Became a Man. Christian Assembly's pastoral staff taught the seminar sessions using video clips, testimonies, practical teaching and a time of Q&A all based on scriptural truths and interlaced with humor and poignant personal stories.
The seminar will be repeated this fall. You may contact the church office for more information.
Recordings of the sessions are available on CD for a $20 donation to Christian Assembly's STL Missions Fund.

Today, Truth Ministry held a press conference in front of our church sanctuary to promote a message of love and grace and a biblical view of homosexuality. The press conference was held to counter the demonstration by SoulForce held earlier in the day at Bob Jones University. Speaking for Truth Ministry was director McKrae Game and women's ministry director Miranda Pettit. You can look for press releases from WYFF, Greenville's NBC affiliate, WSPA, Spartanburg's CBS affiliate and The Beat, Greenville's weekly alternative (read gay-friendly) newspaper.
Truth Ministry also unveiled a new billboard today between downtown Greenville and Christian Assembly on Wade Hampton Boulevard. McKrae said that the billboard's message is one of hope to anyone desiring a closer relationship with the Lord and wanting to walk away from homosexuality.
Christian Assembly is happy to be ministry partners with Truth Ministry as we open our doors and hearts as Christ would to our entire community.
